Brandon Webb’s 22 victories were not enough to put him over the top as finished second in the National League Cy Young award voting to Giants ace Tim Lincecum. Lincecum received 23 first places votes to Brandon Webb’s 4.
This marks the second consecutive year Brandon Webb has finished second in Cy Young voting after winning the award in 2006. Tim Lincecum had 18 victories to Webby’s 22, but his ERA was just 2.62 to Webb’s 3.30. Lincecum struck out 265 batters on the season while Webb, a ground ball pitcher struck out 183.
