It was revlead today that three weeks ago the Cardinals general manager, Rod Graves received a call from Drew Rosenhaus, Edgerrin James’s agent asking if the Cards would consider releasing James. Graves said the Cardinals “declined it as a consideration.”
Drew Rosenhaus called Graves after James was benched against St. Louis. Since then James has had only three carries for a total of five yards.
Graves went on to say that releasing James “didn’t make sense on several fronts.” Tim Hightower is Arizona primary running back, with J.J. Arrington also receiving significant carries. James would still be a viable backup option should either of the two get injured.
